A classic, this 1998 combines elegance with lovely textured, rich flavours of black cherries and currants, resulting in a quintessential Bordeaux that is unlike any other wine produced in the world. The wine possesses an ethereal lightness, layers of fruit, and a diaphanous framework. More nuances appear with each sip. Tasters will find notes of blackberries, plums, currants, tar, spice box, and minerals. A beautifully etched wine, it will be at its finest between 2003-2017.

Tasting note: Amazing , evocative aromas, suggestive of grapefruit, gooseberry and lime, followed on the palate by juicy, citrus fruits with delicious  herbal tones and fine minerality. Second glass offers up floral, honeysuckle notes too. Highly energetic, pure and focused.

Heru is Elf keeper of this vineyard in Casablanca, Chile, where the Pinot Noir grape is so treasured it requires a protector, this elf, who guards against thieving goblins and birds and whose magic wards off bad weather, ensuring an ideal environment for perfect ripening, which in turn gives this wine the caressing, sensual finesse for which it is known. A remarkable wine, light in body yet with depth in character; red fruited with delicate minerality, vanilla spice and fine, silky tannins. A wine by John Duval, Ventisquero.
