Jurançon Doux, Clos Uroulat 2008 (France)
Situated in the foothills of the Pyrenees, this 16 hectare estate is run by father and daughter winemaking team Charles & Marie Hours. They produce two very different styles of Jurançon dry and sweet in a region which is steeped in history. All of the Hours’s vines are trellised high at 2½ meters to prevent damage from the Spring frosts, and on average, the vines are over 20 years old. This sweet Clos Uroulat is 100% Petit Manseng late harvested in early November. Its fresh zesty character is captivating, orange blossom on the nose with citrussy flavours and perfect balance.
