Hermitage, Domaine Colombier 2006
The grapes from this superb Domaine used to be sold to Guigal for blending, but in 1993 the Domaine started making and bottling wines under their own label. Florent Viale has built the domaine up to be one of the best in the region. Coming from a Granite hillside in the north of France’s Rhone Valley, Hermitage is one of the world’s greatest expressions of the Syrah grape. Blessed with a full southern exposition, the hill of Hermitage allows the vines to fully ripen, yet its poor soils stress the vines, reducing yields and ensuring a remarkable complexity in the finished wines, Colombier has 1.8 hectares of this valuable land…
