Nature, Domaine La Fourmente
Remi Pouizin`s family have been making wine on this pretty estate, surrounded by fields of lavender, since 1922. His grandmother converted the 60 hectares to biological farming in 1964. The wine they call “Nature” is a mix of 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah from clay soils and mature vines (25-55 years). The style is reminiscent of Chateauneuf du Pape.
Tasting notes:
Dark ruby hue, peppery mixed fruits, rich, fleshy palate, blue berries, blackberries, delicious intensity and fuitiness. Great barbecue wine!
